Inga Arshakyan will represent Armenia

The powerful and inspiring voice of Inga has been the pearl of many Armenian patriotic songs performed along with her sister Anush Arshakyan. Being a bold representative of the Armenian folk music and culture, Inga has already had the experience to perform in the Eurovision stage in a duet as Inga & Anush Arshakyan in 2009. 
Inga is a graduate of A. Babajanyan Music College as a violinist. She also studied at the Yerevan State Conservatory, jazz vocal class, graduating in 2005. Inga and Anush formed a duet and since the year of 2000 they have been performing in the professional stage. In 2008 they started cooperating with “Sharm Holging”
Performing ethnic songs Inga and Anush have a unique way of combining Armenian folk music with rock, jazz and modern patters making it an incredible piece of art. Their vocal diapasons, taste of music and Armenian folk music blends creating soft and delicate sounds.  
Sisters are the bright example that ethnic music and roots are very strong, pure and natural and that those things can stand time change.
Inga and Anush toured all over the world – getting all five continents under their feet. They had concerts in the United States (New York, Los Angeles, Boston), the UK (London), Canada (Montreal, Toronto, Vancouver), France (Paris, Lyon) Monaco (Monte Carlo), Russia (Moscow, St. Petersburg), Ukraine (Kiev, Odessa), Australia (Sydney, Melbourne), China (Shanghai), Iran (Tehran, Isfahan), United Arab Emirates (Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Kuwait ), Syria (Aleppo), Lebanon (Beirut), Thailand (Bangkok), Germany, the Netherlands, Bulgaria, Cyprus, Turkey (Istanbul), Kazakhstan (Alma-Ata).
During their career they managed to release 4 albums – “We are those Mountains,” (2002)“Tamzara,” (2005) “We are our Mountains,”(2009) and the latest one that was released in 2014 was called “Sketches.” They have released 2 DVDs – one with their live concert in 2006 and the next one was a combination of their tours.
The single Menq Enq Mer Sarerệ, was selected as the 2009 song for the annual Armenian Telethon, under the name "Our Shushi." In 2012 their other song called “Hay hay” was the soundtrack of the Armenian Telethon again.
The rich list of their achievements and awards starts with the award from the president of Armenia for their high quality music and investment in Armenia’s music industry. In the same year (2005) their rendition of the folk song "Tamzara won the Tigran Naghdalyan award in the “National Music Awards,”
The Arshakyan Sisters were selected by the Armenian public on 14 February 2009, to represent Armenia at the Eurovision Song Contest 2009 in Moscow, Russia, with the song “Jan Jan.” The song won a place in the Eurovision final on May 16, winning one of ten spots from the first semi-final on May 12. They eventually finished in 10th place with 92 points.
They were awarded “The Best Duet” award in Tashir 2009 and “The best album” in National Music Awards for their album “We are our Mountains.” Also, in 2010 for their tour project “We are our Mountains” they received an award in Armenia’s National Awards and in 2011 they won “The best Duet” award, this time from Armenia’s National Awards.  They almost never went home without an award from National Music Awards ceremony in 2011 winning “The best Album” award for their “We are our Mountains” CD.
“My name is Armenia” is the most popular hit performed by Anush and Inga and in 2012 it received “Hit of the year” award in Armenia’s music Awards. The same year the same hit also won “Style Screen’s” award as the “Best hit for 2012”.
In 2014 Inga and Anush received the most valuable title for their huge contribution to Armenian music - President’s award and the title of “Honorable Artist of the Republic of Armenia.”
In the year of 2015, Inga will be presenting Armenia in Vienna at the 60th Eurovision Song Contest along with 5 other talented artists, all with Armenian backgrounds. She is currently in the preparation process of the first Semi-Final of the prestigious concert that will take place on May 19th.
