As an active member of European Broadcasting Union and the official broadcaster of “Eurovision
Song Contest” Public TV Company of Armenia is competent to select this year ESC’s Armenian
representative and a song either by National selection(viewers / jury) or Internal selection.
On December 3rd, one of European Broadcasting Union’s largest projects, the Junior Eurovision Song Contest, took place in Yerevan.
Head of Junior Eurovision, Sietse Bakker, has given his high evaluation regarding the organizational, creative, and technical activities of the event. He has also congratulated the winners, “Candy Group” from Georgia, stating that all the young contestants are stars in the eyes of both the television audiences and the professional jury.
Delegations continue to express their gratitude and satisfaction about the proper reception, hospitality, and the wonderful competition.

Georgia Winning Junior Eurovision Again
Congratulations to Candy! The magnificent Junior Eurovision 2011 is over, with Georgia winning the Contest. Just in a few minutes there will be a special press conference at the Press Centre of the Karen Demirchyan Concert and Sport Complex, where the JESC 2011 winner will share their emotions and excitements with the world and answer the questions of the international and Armenian press.
To remind, the next Junior Eurovision will take place in the Netherlands, where we will again plunge into an adventure of colors and music.

Femke, the representative of Belgium was the last participant of the contest. She has just performed her song <<Een Kusje Meer>> and amazed everybody with her quite catcy song. Despite, the fact that she had some anxiety that she was too little for the huge stage, she did her job very well and is a good candidate for victory.

Just a few minutes ago Katya Ryabova, the Russian representative for JESC 2011 opened the show. She performed her comparatively slow song excellently. The pretty girl had a quite good performance which was accompanied with interesting show. After it, she joined the other participants who welcomed her with applauds.
The second participant was the representative od Latvia Amanda Bashmakova. She has just finished her performance. She did her job successfully and what proves to be more important, without the accompany of other children. Amanda has already joined the other participants and they are looking forward to the results of the competition.

The representative of Moldova Lerika just represented Moldova in JESC 2011. She showed her active and energetic character through the performance, and her hot pink dress is probably every little girl’s dream. She has a strong song, vocal and behavior. She was only the third to perform and there are ten more contestants ahead.

Only a few minutes ago our representative Dalita has had her performance at Sport and Concert Complex after Karen Demirchyan. Our representative has overcome her responsibility very well representing our country as great as possible. The stage looked like a real airport. One should have noticed the warmth with which the audience greeted Dalita. On the whole the audience are very warm today.
The special guest of JESC 2011 Moly Sanden had a meeting with the journalist for the first time. She was the Swedish representative of JESC 2006. She advices this year’s participants to enjoy every single minute and to forget about the competition. The young singer has already heard all countries’ songs, but she hasn’t seen them on the stage that’s why she can’t single out any of them. Naturally, she wishes Sweden to win this year; she also liked the representatives of Moldova and The Netherlands.
To the journalists’ question whether she would like to take part in Eurovision Song Contest 2012 and to repeat her boyfriend Eric Saade’s experience, she answered. “I don’t want to compare me with Eric as I do my best to separate my private life from my job. When I am on the stage I don’t think about him. What concerns to Eurovision, I would take part in it with a great pleasure”.
Sande is in Armenia for the first time and she is greatly impressed by it. Especially she was surprised by the kindness among people.

Ivan Ivanov from Bulgaria just finished his performance on JESC 2011. His song was pretty dancy and unique. Considering that he himself and his style is similar to Ralph Machenbach (JESC 2009) and Vladimir Arzumanyan (JESC 2010), he might have some good chances for winning this year. Most importantly, has good vocal and an interesting show.
The representative of Lithuania Paulina Skrabyte was the sixth JESC 2011 performer. She spread a lot of positive atmosphere around through her performance. Paulina Skrabyte gained the love of the audience which made her a good candidate of victory.
Just a few minutes ago Ukrainian representative Kristall finished her performance. It was wonderful both in terms of vocal and show. Having natural charm she dazzled the audience. And her dynamic, catchy and happy song “Europe” made the audience dance.

Dorian Dlaka from Macedonia was eighth to perform. In comparison with the rest of the participants, he is quite different with his style and song. Although he has some problems with his voice, apparently he got over them and presented his country appropriately. His original character and positive aura influence the atmosphere and help the audience to single him out.

The ninth participant, Rachel from the Netherlands was the most colorful and bright performer today. It’s not only because of her juicy hair color, but also her sweet smile and voice. The theme of her song will be understood by most of the viewer, making her a favorite for JESC 2011. Considering that Junior Eurovison 2012 will be held in the Netherlands, she might as well make the Armenian case a tradition, organizing the Contest in the winning country.

The tenth participant of the contest Lidia Zablotskaya has just performed her quite “kind” song called “The angels of Kindness”. The atmosphere was emphasized with the beautiful show consisted of two “statues” playing violin. So Lidia Zablotskaya made her country Belarus a promising candidate for the contest.

Eric Rapp’s song was absolutely Eurovision style. The show itself is very European and well-organized. Internet voting carried out in different Eurovision websites made him the winner this year. This was the reason that he was announced a winner during the rehearsals. Although his song is very popular among Eurovision fans, he has really strong competitors.

The sweetest performers, Georgian representatives, were the 12th in JESC 2011. Their show was very similar to their music video with retro style and lots of flirt. Just like their song, the little singers are very positive and, most importantly, energetic. They danced throughout the show and still manage to sing Candy Music perfectly. They are one of the strongest vocals in the Contest.
Sirusho’s Official Press Conference at the Press Centre of Junior Eurovision 2011
Just a few minutes ago Sirusho’s official press conference at Karen Demirchyan Sport and Concert Complex took place. Sirusho answered to a number of questions asked by both international and national journalists. When asked about the possibility of her future participation in Eurovision, she told the press: “Never say never. Right now I don’t have any certain answer, but, also, I don’t want to exclude my participation both as a performer and as a composer”. Speaking about her cooperation with other Eurovision participants, Sirusho mentioned that she is still in touch with the Serbian representative Elena and the representative of Israel Boaz.
The representative of Ukraine in JESC 2011 is very pleased with her second rehearsal. “That was better than the first one, because there were some problems connected with the music sound during the first rehearsal”. Kristall’s main aim is to represent her country as good as possible and to make friends with all the participants. “As for the victory, I think that should be decided by the TV viewers but I think that we deserve victory because we work very hard,” mentions Kristall. She liked Armenia very much, because, as she says, it is a very hospitable country. Kristall also added that it was very pleasant to be welcomed by the Armenian delegation at the airport. They have had a walk in the center of Yerevan and have seen many beautiful places just the day after their arrival.
The preparations for Junior Eurovision 2011 are in full swing in Yerevan. The participants are still going on with their rehearsals. They worked really hard and have great expectations from the Contest. JESC 2011 representative of F.Y.R. Macedonia is confident about his victory: ”I am very excited about the Contest and I am sure that if I don’t achieve the first prize, I shall certainly be among the first four winners.
The special guest of Junior Eurovision 2011 is finally announced. Swedish singer Molly Sanden will perform the song ''Det Finaste Någon Kan Få'' in the third interval of the Contest.
Finally, Junior Eurovision’s Jury rehearsal took place at Karen Demirchyan Sport and Concert complex on December 2. The audience was also present at the rehearsal. It was the same show as today’s concert is expected to be, with one difference - there was no voting and no winner.
Today, all the organizers will finally have the opportunity to show the excellent work of several months to the fans and to the audience of this contest. Already in a few hours one of the main events of this year will start. At 22.30 Hamalir’s stage will burst with the sounds of Armenian and European music.
New JESC 2011 Stamp is Released
Today the official ceremony of presenting the new Armenian stamp took place at JESC Press Centre of Karen Demirchyan Sport and Concert Complex. The stamp is 230th in the Armenian stamp collection and bears the logo and the design of Junior Eurovision 2011. The new JESC stamp will be released in 40.000 copies.
The head of press of Junior Eurovision Jarmo Siim shared his impressions: “This event is the first in the history of Junior Eurovision. I am very happy about it and this stamp will remain an important and precious memory for me”. Siim hopes that it will become a prototype for similar events in future”.
This JESC stamp is a part of an Armenian tradition, according to which special stamps are released every time an event of historical significance takes place in Armenia.

Mayor of Yerevan Welcomes Junior Eurovision 2011
On December 2 the mayor of Yerevan Taron Margaryan welcomed the delegations of Junior Eurovision 2011 to Armenia. Margaryan mentioned that Yerevan, a city rich with history, now lives an active cultural period. He also appreciated the significance of this world-known Contest being organized in Armenia. Margaryan is sure that the Contest that excites the European audience for a few years now will be equally impressive this year.
The head of the Armenian delegation Gohar Gasparyan thanked mayor on behalf of all delegations, saying that all participants are especially excited to be in Yerevan. Moreover, some love the city so much that they expressed willingness to come to Armenian once again after the Contest.
At the end of the meeting the Taron Margaryan presented Armenian traditional souvenir to all delegations and wished good luck to all participants.
The Contest is just about to start, but the atmosphere at the Sport and Concert Complex is already boiling up to huge excitement and thousands of expectations. The audience is crowding in the halls, painted with colors of the participant flags. Colors and smiles are everywhere in and outside the building.
Children of different ages are enjoying the fantastic music provided by the DJ and photographing with the posters. And not only children are enjoying this magnificent event, grown-ups are equally having the best Saturday ever!
The Complex has never before been so cheerful and stunning. Flags and colors are literally everywhere, even the cold weather could not prevent the energy of the audience.
Shopping centers, filled with JESC t-shirts, hats, scarves, cups and other JESC souvenirs, are full with buyers.
So, good luck to all participants and organizers. Let’s wait and see the opening of this fantastic show.

Although the representative of Latvia, Amanda Bashmakova has only managed to see Garni-Gegard and Cascade, she liked Armenia very much. “At Cascade we visited a very interesting museum. Finally we got acquainted with the Armenian architecture”. We were also surprised at the number of the stairs although we used the escalator. Amanda has already managed to make friends with the participants, especially with the representatives of Macedonia and Lithuania with whom she lives on the same floor. Amanda wished great success to them and to other representatives and wished them not to be worried during the performance. In the end, she added “As the popular song says “Don’t worry, be happy.”

“I have always followed to all songs and performances of the participants on the internet, but now they are all here and we have already managed to get acquainted with each other. I have already made friends with most of them. The most important thing is that all the participants return to their countries with positive impressions” – the Armenian representative of JESC 2011 Dalita shared her opinion. She also told us that all the participants work very hard and their performances are very beautiful. What concerns to her performance during the first rehearsal Dalita sincerely confessed that she was not satisfied with it, since she had some problems with her voice. But she also mentioned that today everything has been perfect and she is contended with her performace.
Junior Eurovision 2011 press conference took place at Karen Demirchyan Sports and Concerts Complex on November 30. The speakers of the press conference were the supervisor of Junior Eurovision Sietse Bakker, the representative of World Vision Armenia Graham Strong, the head of the Armenian delegation Gohar Gasparyan, the spokesperson for Junior Eurovision 2011 Artak Vardanyan and the executive producer Levon Simonyan. There were rumors after the previous Contest, which took place in Minsk, Belarus, that it would be the last Junior Eurovision, however the supervisor of Junior Eurovision Sietse Bakker mentioned: “Although there will be some budget cuts, we have decided that the Contest will continue taking place in different countries due to the increase of the number of the participating countries”.

Just a few minutes ago Sirusho’s rehearsal ended on the stage of the Complex, the venue of Junior Eurovision 2011. As always, the entry will be fantastic and full of surprises. The new version of “Qele, Qele” full of European and Armenian elements, will once again win the heart of Europe. Moreover, the show will present the Armenian spirit in the best possible way.
Representative of the Netherlands Sings about Herself
The representative of the Netherlands Rachel is one of the favorites of Junior Eurovision 2011. She will perform the song “Teenager” on December 3. The message of the song, which is about herself, is very simple, she wants to tell everyone how great it is to be a teenager. In general, she is a fan of Rihanna, but within the Contest her favorite is the representative of Ukraine, Kristal.
To remind, today was Rachel’s second rehearsal, which is also her last one. We will see her perform on the stage on December 3
The representative of Macedonia Dorian Dlaka shared his impressions: “Armenia is a wonderful country, there are a lot of places of interests her and I expect to do even more sightseeing. I liked the statue of Mother Armenia the best”. He has already managed to become friends with different participants. Dorian didn’t want to mention the names of his favorites as all and every one of the participants has done a long and exhausting work. We should appreciate every one of them, as they are already winners. His idols in the world music industry are Lady Gaga, Beyonce and Madonna, and he would very much like to sing a duet with them.
We would like to mention that Dorian missed his rehearsal yesterday because of health problems. In his interview with Eurovision.am the head of the Macedonian delegation Rade Spasovski mentioned. Dorian is 14 years old. As we all know male voices undergo some changes in this period of life. This was the reason that he couldn’t sing the high notes during his previous rehearsal. However, I assure you that you will see a perfect performance”.
Belarusian representative Lidia Zablotskaya is very contented with her rehearsals both in terms of vocal and performance. Nevertheless, there is much to do for fixing some mistakes. The singer has already managed to make friends with all the participants. They spend a great time together during the meetings. Talking about Armenia, Lidia mentioned: “I liked Armenia very much. It differs greatly from Belarus. I don’t want to say it is better or worse, it’s just a unique country. Here kindness and warmness prevail. I’m very happy for the fact that Junior Eurovision 2011 is held in Armenia.” Lidia also noted that if one day she gets the chance to visit Armenia again, she will do it with great pleasure.
The participants have arrived and their rehearsals have started.
In 28th November a concert show took place in “Mezzo” club. During it the participants from all countries performed their songs, the prize was shown, the very prize which each of the participants dreams to take to his country. In the end, the festive cake was cut.
In 29th November the first JESC rehearsal took place in Sport Complex Center named after Karen Demirchyan.
The participants felt the festive atmosphere and got a clear concept of what awaits them in December 3.
The biggest aim of the representative of Russia in JESC 2011 Katya Ryabova is to represent Russia with dignity. Besides, she tries to make new friends and to gain positive emotions. She has already made friends with other participants, with whom they usually have a walk. Concerning the chance of her victory in the contest, she mentioned that she didn't want to make any predictions in advance. Katya wasn't even aware of the fact that she was the first according to the bookmakers' list of favorites. She was pleasantly surprised. Talking about Armenia Katya stated «You have a wonderful country with interesting and deep culture. We are having a trip tomorrow, which will give us an opportunity to study your places of interests deeper».
The representative of Moldova Lerika is very pleased with her today's rehearsal. She has started her preparations for the contest already in Moldova, where her teacher Irina Morar has been a great help to her. Lerika is very happy to participate in the Contest. She thinks all participants are already winners. She has made friends with most of them even before the opening ceremony. Lerika shared her impressions with us. «The children are very kind, hospitable, I liked all of them. Our main goal is to entertain the audience and TV watchers». Anyway, she will try to 'reach for the top' and win. Speaking about the host country, she mentioned that Armenia is a very beautiful country and she's very happy that the Contest is held just here.

It is also known that Russia’s participant will open the contest and the closing performance will be Belgium’s Femke.
