Eurovision Song Contest

Vladimir Arzumanyan with his song "Mama" has won the National Final yesterday evening. The jury members were Armina Darbinyan (music expert), Shahen Shahinyan (vice-rector of Yerevan State Conservatory), Arthur Ispiryan (singer, composer), Qristine Pepelyan (singer), Nazeni Hovhannisyan (actress, TV hostess), Gor Sujyan (vocalist "Dorians" rock-band). Congratulations to the winner! He has a hard work ahead!

Dialects and imaginary languages have surfaced again and again at Eurovision. In 1989 Switerzerland's entry was sung in Romansch and Lithuania's song "Strazdas" was sung in a west-Lithuanian dialect.

In 2007 Armenia took part in ESC for the second time and won the same 8th place with Hayko’s "Anytime You Need". It gave us the right to take part in the Final stage in Belgrade 2008.

Monica Manucharova was born in September 15th, 1995, in the second Armenian large city, Gyumri.

In 1999 Monica was one of the singers of "Derdzanik" vocal ensemble. Currently she is studying at the Russian language specialized primary school in Gyumri. She simultaneously attends music school, piano department, in Gyumri. Starting from 2004 she is studying at "Emi Bi" production center, particularly at "Do-Re-Mi" vocal studio. She was one of the participants of "Berliner Perle-2007" song contest which took place in Berlin and she took the third prize.

In 2008 Monica participated in the national selection of "Junior Eurovision 2008" song contest. In November 2008 she will represent Armenia at "Junior Eurovision 2008" song contest with the song "Im Ergi Hnchyune (The Melody of My Song)". The melody was composed by Monica Manucharova and the lyrics were written by Meri Mnjoyan.

She is the winner of various district and national song contests all over Armenia. Besides she participated in different district concerts together with "Derdzanik" vocal ensemble.
