Junior Eurovision 2010
Vladimir Arzumanyan with his song "Mama" has won the National Final yesterday evening. The jury members were Armina Darbinyan (music expert), Shahen Shahinyan (vice-rector of Yerevan State Conservatory), Arthur Ispiryan (singer, composer), Qristine Pepelyan (singer), Nazeni Hovhannisyan (actress, TV hostess), Gor Sujyan (vocalist "Dorians" rock-band). Congratulations to the winner! He has a hard work ahead!

Until now, the most covered Eurovision hit is "Volare". Stars like Dean Martin, Al Martino, Marino Marini and David Bowie have all made cover versions of the song.
In 2007 Armenia took part in ESC for the second time and won the same 8th place with Hayko’s "Anytime You Need". It gave us the right to take part in the Final stage in Belgrade 2008.

  • ARMENIAN PRESELECTION RULES FOR
    JUNIOR EUROVISION SONG CONTEST 2008 IN CYPRUS


    The organizing committee invites you to participate in Armenian selection for JUNIOR EUROVISION SONG CONTEST 2008 in Cyprus.
    1. The exclusive rights to represent Armenia at the JUNIOR EUROVISION SONG CONTEST 2008 in Cyprus belong to the “Public TV Company of Armenia” CJSC.
    2. The organizers of the preselection are the Public TV Company of Armenia and “EMI BI” production centre.
    3. The preselection will be broadcast by the “Public TV Company of Armenia” CJSC, which is being watched in USA, Europe, Russia and CIS countries:
    OBJECTIVES
    1. Settlement and enlargement of mutual cultural relations among different countries of the world.
    2. Integration of Armenian children who used to live abroad into the cultural life of Armenia.
    3. To discover talented author-performers aged between 10-15 years and to offer the best ones to participate in JUNIOR EUROVISION SONG CONTEST 2008 in Cyprus.
    FIRST PRESELECTION
    1. The first preselection is scheduled for June 30th, 2008 and July 1st, 2008 to take place in Yerevan. The exact time of the preselection will be announced to the applicants later. The venue is AMPTV studio.
    2. An impartial jury will be selected by the “EMI BI” production centre to implement the first preselection. The jury will estimate the music, lyrics, vocal skills and stage performance abilities with the maximum of 20 points and by means of the undisclosed and confidential voting. The Jury will consist of famous musicians, singers, actors, TV and radio specialists, heads of international contests and festivals and the representatives of Mass Media.
    3. The author of the composition must be the performer himself or herself. In case of a band it should be one of the group (band) members.
    4. All compositions must be registered by the authors as copyright objects.
    5. Submitted compositions must not be published or in any manner presented to the public before June 1st.
    6. The compositions must be presented to the cultural center only in MP3 format (192 bit/sec). From 30 to 40 songs will be chosen & obtain the right to participate in the first preselection.
    7. The duration of the performances must not exceed 2 minutes 45 seconds. The minimum duration of the song must be 2 minutes 30 seconds.
    8. The compositions which haven’t been qualified for the first preselection will be destroyed and the organizers have no obligations for returning them to the author.
    9. The best author-performers, who are qualified for the second preselection, will be informed further.
    10. During the first preselection the author-performers will carry the expenses related to professional arrangement and record of their compositions.
    11. Only 10 compositions out of 30 or 40 will be qualified for the second preselection.
    SECOND PRESELECTION
    1. The best ten compositions from the first preselection will be presented during the second one, which is scheduled to run on July 6th, 2008. The exact time of the selection will be announced to applicants later. The venue is AMPTV studio.
    2. Jury of the second preselection will estimate the results through closed and confidential voting.
    3. The SMS voting will be made available both for the citizens of Armenia and the other countries. The voting will last 15 minutes.
    4. During the second preselection the author-performers will also carry the expenses to professional arrangement and record of their compositions as well as the stage costumes.
    5. The author-performer of the best composition (The Winner), which collects the highest points from the Jury and SMS voting on July 11th, 2008 will obtain the right of representing Armenia at the JUNIOR EUROVISION SONG CONTEST 2008 in Cyprus.
    6. All further expenses of the Winner-participant (financial, staging etc) related to the JUNIOR EUROVISION SONG CONTEST 2008 in Cyprus are covered by the “Public TV Company of Armenia” CJSC.
    7. The organizers do not carry any financial and other (accommodation, travel costs,) obligations for the participants from regions and abroad during aforementioned two preselections in Armenia.
    SUBMISSION OF APPLICATION
    1. For the preselections only children with Armenian origin and musical talent can participate. They must be the author-performers of the composition (solo, duet, band of no more than 8 members). The participants must be residents of the Republic of Armenia for at least 2,5 years.
    2. The applications must be submitted before May 20th, 2008 together with the copy of passport or birth certificate of the author-performer. The application form can be found at www.eurovision.am .
    3. Together with the application the authors and singers must present the recordings of their songs by CD, MD and in +1, -1 formats.
    4. The song can be presented both with the back-vocals and live performance and with singback.
    5. The participants must speak at least one international language (English, French or Russian).
