Mariam

Mariam was born in Perm. The singer’s family moved to Yerevan when she was at the fifth grade. In 2016, she was admitted to the Musical Collage after Romanos Melikyan, studying at the Vocal-Theoretical Department. During that period, she performed her first live concerts with Imagine Band, singing her own songs and covers of famous songs. She recorded her first songs in English and French with Imagine Band. In 2011, the singer started her studies at the Jazz-Pop Department of Vocal-Theoretical Faculty of Yerevan State Conservatory after Komitas. While studying in the Conservatory, Mariam started her collaboration with Nick Egibyan, recording several songs and filming her first video for the song “It’s True”. After graduating from the Conservatory, the singer continued her studies in England, at the University of West London. During her time in London, she collaborated with Water Knot, recorded two songs and sang in London musical clubs.

“When I was a kid, we lived in Russia, but almost every summer my parents sent me to Armenia to live with my grandparents. I spent summers at their village house. I remember how much I missed the bright sun and the incredible nature of our village when I had to return to Russia. I wanted to live and to study in Armenia. So, my brightest childhood memory is Armenia and its warmth.”

“I would like to sing a duet with Serj Tankian. I’ve written a song for “7 Note Challenge”, organized by Serj Tankian and Creative Armenia. I hope they will notice it.”

“My achievements are mostly academic.”
