A New Song By "Qele, Qele" author
During ESC 2011 song selection day the name of the winning song will be known. But before it the preparations are in full swing. One of the 4 songs, entered for the national selection, has already been recorded.
Songwriter DerHova is the author of lyrics, music and producer of his song. In the interview for eurovision.am he presented the main theme and the peculiarities of the song;
DerHova - The name of the song is “AYO” which in Armenian means -Yes. Its main idea is to struggle against difficulties and overcome them, as the hero prevails in the character. “AYO” is a very positive and dynamic song. There is a lot of energy in it. It gives Emmy an opportunity to show a good vocal. The important thing is that the song is a catchy-tune due to the repeated word AYO.
During the song writing process did you take into consideration the fact, that Armenia will be represented by Emmy?
DerHova- I always wanted to cooperate with Emmy. Last year when she was in America we always kept in touch and constantly spoke about our cooperation. So ESC gave that opportunity. I talked with her, understood her thoughts and wrote the song specifically for her. She also finds that there is something close to her in the song.
What distinguishes “AYO” from the rest 3 songs entered to the competition?
DerHova-Of course it will be my own opinion but I think that there are more emotions and it has a more serious theme, though all the songs are rhythmical and dynamic. This time I decided not to keep the Armenian elements in foreground. Duduk was used very slightly in the song. People abroad are fond of Armenian duduk. There are so many emotions in it. It seems as if it contains a deep spirit.Another national instrument was also used, and there is again some grief in it. Till now Armenia has never used this instrument in Eurovision.
