The competition is on…

One of the 4 songs competing for the entry to Eurovision 2011 has been already recorded. The song is called “Hi”. The music of the song was written by Vahram Petrosyan, the lyrics are by Mariam Shahinyan, the arranger of the song is Lazzaro. The recordings of the song, which were presided by the singer Tigran Petrosyan, took place at the “Sono Rec Studio”(Zaqian 8).

Do you think that the rhythmic songs are more likely to win in the Eurovision Song Contest?

Vahram Petrosyan: I think that only good songs become  winners of Eurovision, no matter how rhythmic they are. The only thing is, that when 4 years ago I wrote a song for Sirusho, I understood that Armenians never accept lyrical songs.

What is the song about?

Mariam Shahinyan: The song is about love, which has already gone, but the girl wants to return it. I have tried to write the lyrics appropriate to the song, that will be catchy and easy to remember. It is said in the song, that I have found my ideal in you, but you never found the girl of your dreams in me. The main idea of the song is that no one is perfect.

Lazzaro you are a new name in Armenian show business. With which singers have you worked before?

Lazzaro: I have come to this field mostly with remixes. For the first time I have worked with Der Hova on the remix of Sofie Mkheyan’s song which is called “Լույս խավարում”(Light in the Darkness). After that I did the remix of the song “Իմն ես”(You’re mine) by Arpy, Davo and Der Hova. I’m also the author of the remix of one song from Davo’s CD. Now I have some plans to work with Sofie Mkheyan and Lucina.
I work in this style for the first time, and I will do my best to make everything perfect. Good basis have already been established and we are about to make a perfect song which we would like to see on the Eurovision stage.

Why people should vote for your song?

Vahram Petrosyan: Because my song is very rhythmic, very easy to remember and is maximum catchy and because the word “Hi” is very frequently mentioned in the song.
Mariam Shahinyan: The song is very catchy and can capture a lot of audience.
Lazzaro: The style of the song is very proper to Eurovision and the chances of our victory are great, because Europeans like this kind of catchy, rhythmic songs which are easy to remember.
